About the Maker…
Craigs design and sculptural practice investigates the complex, often unseen systems of connection that shape human experience. Working at the intersection of form, material, and spatial interaction, He explores how people relate not only to one another, but also to the structures—physical and conceptual—that hold us together.
Through sculpture, He translates intangible bonds into tangible forms, using weight, tension, balance, and surface to echo the dynamics of human relationships. Craigs pieces often function as physical metaphors: networks of lines that mirror social pathways, interlocking forms that suggest interdependence, and open spaces that invite viewers to step inside the idea of connection itself. In design, He extends these explorations into functional objects and environments that encourage reflection on how we inhabit shared spaces. He is drawn to materials that carry a sense of presence—metal, wood, fibre, modular components—each chosen for their ability to convey vulnerability, strength, or continuity.
At the core of his work is a belief that connectivity is not static but alive, shifting with every interaction. He studies the tension between closeness and distance, the balance between individuality and collective identity, and the ways in which design can shape these relationships. By engaging the body in space—through touch, proximity, or movement—He aims to make viewers aware of the subtle, constant negotiations that define human connection.
Ultimately, his practice serves as a reminder that we exist within networks far greater than ourselves. Through design and sculpture, He seeks to surface the delicate, resilient threads that bind us, inviting audiences to recognise their place within an ever-evolving human fabric.
